    Microsoft Project Fundamentals

    About the Course

    Welcome to the Microsoft Project Fundamentals course. This is a self-directed learning programme designed to help you develop new skills at your own pace. By the end of this training, you will be able to use Microsoft Project best features to customise and schedule tasks and assets, optimise projects through planning, track the critical path, analyse project progress and create customised reports.

    Learning Outcomes

    • Acquire knowledge to plan, monitor, and communicate a project plan using Microsoft Project.

    Course Structure

    There are 4 Interactive Modules in this course. Each module will consist of a combination of:
    • A video from your course instructor giving you an outline of the topics covered in the course and its learning objectives.
    • Activities to reflect and test your knowledge as you progress during the course.
    • Additional resources and further reading to help you explore the topic in greater detail.
    The course is supported by handouts which you can download, and review in your own time. We will talk through the activities outlined in the handouts. You can practice them as we go, or later at any convenient time. Throughout the course, we will also be working on a case study exercise to create a project plan, putting those handouts to good use. You will have access to the course contents for 12 weeks, starting from the time of enrolment. During this time, you will complete all course activities and the final assessment to receive the course certificate of completion.     • Domain: The high-level knowledge area that is essential to the practice of project management.
    • Tasks: The underlying responsibilities of the project manager within each domain area.
    • Enablers: Illustrative examples of the work associated with the task to help explain what the task contains.

    Project Management Framework

    About the Course

    Welcome to the Project Management Framework course. This is a self-directed learning programme designed to help you develop new skills at your own pace.

    By the end of this training, you will have acquired fundamental knowledge and practical skills essential to help you join a project team and effectively apply project management principles to manage a project from initiation to close out.

    Learning Outcomes

    • Recognise a common language of project management terms and concepts.
    • Identify inputs and outputs of the core project management processes and their purpose in each of the five main process groups: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor & Control and Closing.
    • Classify the ten Knowledge Areas of project management.
    • Execute project management tools and techniques at appropriate phases to enhance project performance.
    • Link project goals and objectives to clear, compelling stakeholder needs.
    • Apply effective team behaviour strategies to develop and manage high-performance teams.

    Course Structure

    • Practical Toolkits to start applying your new skills in the workplace.

    Unit 1 looks at the background of projects and discusses some issues surrounding project management. Projects involve people, and this unit will investigate some people behaviour issues.

    Unit 2 examines the project life cycle and the five project management process groups.

    Unit 3 investigates eleven key tools of project management and will provide you with a toolkit to manage your projects.

    Finally, Unit 4 will look at some case studies. We will talk through the work we need to do on the first case study. There will then be an opportunity for you to work on a second case study in your own time. There are model answer sheets provided for that case study.

    After completing all course units, you will do a Final Assessment comprised of 40 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The assessment is undertaken online, from the comfort of your own home.

    You will have access to the course contents for 12 weeks, starting from the time of enrolment. During this time, you will complete all course activities and the final assessment to receive the course certificate of completion. This is equivalent to approximately 14 hours of content.

    Stakeholder Management and Communications

    About the Course 

    Welcome to the Stakeholder & Project Communication course. This is a self-directed learning programme designed to help you develop new skills at your own pace.  

    By the end of this training, you will be able to effectively influence and manage stakeholder engagement, interests, and expectations for better project results. You will learn how to make a successful stakeholder management plan to get the right people involved at the right time in your project, maintain stakeholder engagement and manage conflict.

    We will start the course covering fundamental Stakeholder Background concepts. Then, you will learn about Communication, including Assertiveness and Negotiation. These modules will help you establish communication techniques you can use with your project stakeholders. 

    After this, we will progress to the three core modules of the course: stakeholder identification, stakeholder analysis and stakeholder engagement. 

    Finally, we are going to show you how to stay connected with your stakeholders. For this, you need to ensure continuous communication with the project stakeholders. That means Continuous Involvement and building relationships with your project stakeholders.
